Members of Scottish Language Dictionaries staff are always pleased to be invited to speak to community groups. Whether you want a speaker for a single occasion or a course of several sessions, we are happy to oblige. We have visited writers' groups, lunch clubs, prisons, the Scottish Women's Rural Institute and over 50s groups. We have spoken at Burns suppers from Dumfries to Rome and are looking for new challenges.
Past talks have included: "The History of Scots", "Scots Language and Literature", "Writing in Scots" and "The Work of SLD". We are very happy to take requests so please let us know if you are interested in a particular aspect of Scots or SLD.
We ask that our travelling expenses are met and any donation to Scottish Language Dictionaries is always welcome, but we do understand that some groups work on very small budgets. We are just glad that people want to hear about the Scots language and our work.
